KMS Christmas - We Couldn't have done it without you!

Yesterday, we hosted our first annual KMS Christmas Collection to raise much needed resources for the Booth Centre, a homeless charity in Manchester City Centre who tirelessly feed, clothe and provide shelter for our city’s rough sleepers.

Since 2010, homelessness has risen in the city by over 79% and last Christmas alone, over 9,000 people approached Manchester City Council for help with homelessness. At KMS Media, we have seen a growing number of people sleeping on the streets and when we began discussing the lacking help for the homeless, we began to realise people want to help but just don't know how.

That's why we organised KMS Media's (now annual) Christmas Collection - everything was arranged, all you had to do was donate.. and boy did you donate!

We approached the Booth Centre about what we could do to help the homeless and the lovely Amy Hinks explained: "people are homeless all year round, at Christmas it’s more about boosting their morale. At this time of year we appeal for the necessities like warm clothing, food, toiletries etc but we would love to provide a little bit of festive cheer to those who visit the centre. Offering something small like a minced pie, something that breaks the routine, can really make a difference to a homeless person.”

We would like to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who became involved in our collection, we really couldn’t have done it without you! We would also like to say thanks to Blush Create for producing our beautiful certificates of appreciation for all who took part.

It took us 1 van, 3 people, 6 hours and 13 participants but we managed to donate an entire van full of resources for the Booth Centre which can now be used throughout the year to help those who need it most. On a daily basis over 250 people visit the centre and thanks to your help, they now have more clothes, food and toiletries to ensure those people are fed, warm and clean.

Thanks once again to: Primesight, Hard Rock Cafe, Media-Link, Regital, Admaxim, People’s History Museum, Radium One, the Candidate, Highrise Communications, JC Decaux, 8 Outdoor, Blush and Time Out for your involvement!
